can't be repeated too often right now. What I keep emphasizing to my friends and family is that the thing frustrated Americans are instinctively rebelling against is simply bureaucracy, which they have mistakenly identified as "the government". As you point out, the problem with a "dismantle government" solution is that counterproductive bureaucracies can arise anywhere... and they do. Privatization doesn't rescue us from bureaucracy. It merely adds the sociopathic imperative of profit to the mix, turning a system that doesn't help people well into one that actively harms them. When an organization's main goal is to maximize profits, it's core agenda must, by definition, trend towards exploitation of the public. Neither the public, "people", nor a single person can be exploited and empowered at the same time.

money involved in this campaign has reached the saturation point --- and will no longer have much effect one way or the other.
Any deep pocketed Romney pac can spend what it wants, but at this point I don't think it could change a mind -- anyone not sold on Mitt is not going to suddenly want to buy in. ( conversly, there is a slight chance to motivate whatever passes for 'undecided' these days to perhaps cast a negative vote against Romney -- but not a 'pro Obama ballot ) I think people are starting to get innured to the whole constant bombardment of negativity. And that could be a problem for the GOP in what is turning into a base/GOTV election. They have run out of fields to till and all the fertilization with wads of lucre isn't going to grow anything for them.
Looking at that last sentence makes me think the GOP Congress should have passed the Farm Bill before heading out to till their barren fields.......
